What an Indian developer can take from it

Our interpretation: assess physical delivery, certification and buyer conditions together when evaluating a new gas market. International market structures are reference material; their incentives and commercial assumptions should not be transferred directly into an Indian project model.

Infrastructure and market access should be examined together

Our project-development interpretation is to examine both the physical and commercial route to a buyer. Gas quality, connection, metering, certification where relevant and payment terms form a connected chain. A plant-level gas-cost calculation does not by itself establish access to the intended market.

For an Indian project, map the proposed delivery point and the responsibilities of each party. If the route depends on future infrastructure or approvals, show the dependency and a credible alternative rather than assuming that access will be available at commissioning.

Use international experience as a question set

International market analysis is most useful when it improves the local due-diligence questions. It should not be used to import another country's incentive, certification or gas-price assumptions into an Indian DPR.

• Who will buy the product and at which delivery point?
• Which quality, measurement and documentation conditions apply?
• Who bears the connection, logistics and interruption risks?
• What changes if the planned market route is delayed?
